Man Puts Woman In Chokehold In Downtown Joliet: Cops

Joliet police cars responded to the 100 block of North Chicago Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

JOLIET, IL — A 35-year-old Joliet man was arrested on felony domestic violence charges Tuesday night at his apartment in downtown Joliet. Rigoberto Andrade was booked into the Will County Jail shortly after 9 p.m. on charges of aggravated domestic battery.

Around 7:40 p.m. Joliet squad cars pulled up to the domestic violence call inside the building in the 100 block of North Chicago Street, which is where Andrade lives, reports show.

Joliet police say Andrade attacked a woman he knew.

"Further investigation indicated that Andrade and the victim were arguing at which time Andrade placed the victim in a chokehold. Andrade was placed into custody without incident," police reports show.

Joliet police say the woman was not injured during the attack.
