Mayor Bob O'Dekirk Injured At City Hall

JOLIET, IL — Joliet Mayor Bob O'Dekirk was injured Monday when he slipped and fell on the ice outside City Hall, according to a story from Bob Okon of The Joliet Herald-News.

Late Monday afternoon, the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce issued a news release announcing that O'Dekirk's State of the City Address, set for Tuesday morning at the Holiday Inn & Suites near Houbolt Road and Interstate 80, had been postponed indefinitely.

The Joliet Fire Department said that O'Dekirk was taken by ambulance to AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center around 8 a.m. Monday.

On Monday night, Joliet's new City Manager Jim Capparelli told Patch that "he's going to be fine. We expect him to return to work soon."
