Merichka's Closed by Small Fire, Will Reopen Friday
The blaze was quickly contained, an employee said, but the dining room filled with smoke.

A small electrical fire forced at Merichka's Restaurant to close early Thursday night, but it will be reopen for business at 11 a.m. Friday, an employee said.
The fire was contained to the furnace area, but forced some smoke into the dining room, requiring the 604 Theodore St. eatery to evacuate and close to customers, an employee who answered the phone later in the evening said.
The blaze was extinguished quickly, and the smoke has been cleared, he said.
"We'll be back open and ready for business at 11 a.m. Friday," he said.
