Meteorite Caught On Joliet Man's Ring Camera?
A loyal reader reached to Patch this week, suggesting he had a short fascinating Ring video he captured from his house in Joliet.

JOLIET, IL — It's not a bird, and it's definitely not a plane, but is it a meteorite zooming through the dark skies of Joliet? That's what one Joliet man believes occurred and his Ring video holds the proof.
Around 10:15 p.m. Sunday, the Joliet resident said that a family member was pulling out of this driveway. As they proceeded to back out of his driveway, "what appears to be something in the sky streaked along the sky," the man notified Joliet Patch. "Prior to the big streak you can see a smaller streak before they pulled out and subsequently after the big streak appeared, a quick moving streak followed it.
"Thought it was neat. Happened Sunday evening. See a subsequent streak after the big one happens," he wrote Joliet Patch.

The man, who requested that his name not be published, said he lives on Brentwood Place, which is on Joliet's west side, between Theodore Street and Ingalls Avenue.
"Could be a meteorite? Could be something else?" he wrote Joliet Patch.

The Brentwood Place resident made the following observations from his Ring video:
"Twenty-three seconds in is where you can see the initial streak fly through. Hard to see unless you zoom in on the top left of the sky. Everything else is clear," he added.
