Missing Crest Hill Woman Case Enters 3rd Week
Crest Hill police have made it clear that investigators do not believe that Wendy Gessing is the victim of violent crime.

CREST HILL, IL — Efforts by members of the Crest Hill Police Department to locate 50-year-old missing resident Wendy Gessing have remained unsuccessful. The missing person case is now in its third week. Police Chief Ed Clark has said that investigators hope to find that Gessing is safe.
He has said that police do not believe Gessing is the victim of a violent crime.
Gessing has lived on Hosmer Lane for several years with her boyfriend, who is the owner of the Pizzas By Marchelloni in Crest Hill at Theodore Street and Raynor Avenue, according to police.

Clark has said Gessing's "significant other" has been helpful with police during the investigation. Family members put up a $2,000 cash reward for any tipster who can help police find Gessing.
Gessing was last seen on June 12 in the area of the Crest Hill pizza restaurant. Four days later, several people believed they saw her at the Motel 6 in Joliet near McDonough Street and Larkin Avenue. The next day, one of her vehicles, a gray Honda CRV, was found abandoned on Joliet's west side in the 400 block of Buell Avenue.

Several days later, according to Crest Hill police, Gessing's cell phone was recovered in Romeoville in the area of Taylor Road.
"We've had several different leads that they followed up on today, we still have some areas that we believe that she may be at that we're checking," Clark informed Joliet Patch on Monday night.
Last Friday, Clark told Patch it was his understanding that Gessing did not pack any type of suitcase containing clothes or other personal belongings. He also said that she has not had any contact with friends, family or close acquaintances since her disappearance on June 12.
