JOLIET, IL — Brothers Rick and Mike Trafton are at it again. For the second time since last September, the owners of The Dock At Inwood have purchased a margarita flight truck.

Their latest addition to The Dock at Inwood, Chartered Flight #2, is painted orange. Chartered Flight #2 is a delivery van that the Traftons purchased locally. The van has 200,000 miles on it. It's a 2005 Workhorse.

"Jose Cuervo partnered with us to have it wrapped," Rick Trafton remarked Monday.

"We have it all set up for private events, which will feature our great food and 23 flavors of our frozen margaritas," Rick Trafton told Joliet Patch.

The party on wheels is available to cater food and alcoholic drinks for neighborhood block parties, graduations, birthday parties, community festivals, company picnics and more.

"We're excited about the community support. It just makes us feel like they really like our product," Rick Trafton said Monday.

Since opening in December 2018, The Dock at Inwood is best known for its margarita flights. Before Joliet Patch had a chance to ask Trafton how many he's sold so far, he could not wait to volunteer the number.

"So far, we're at 75,000 margaritas," he revealed during Monday's interview.

Now, eight months after acquiring Chartered Flight #1, the Traftons have doubled the size of their party vehicle fleet.

Why did they do such a thing?

"The demand was just getting so high," Rick Trafton said. "It's been wonderful."

Of late, The Dock is averaging about three phone calls per day from people asking about having one of The Dock's Chartered Flights come out for an event. Their new addition, Chartered Flight #2, will hit the road for the first time Saturday for a private event in Mokena.

The Chartered Flights provide guests with frozen margaritas as well as food prepared in Joliet at The Dock's full-size kitchen within the Joliet Park District property.

On May 7, Chartered Flights #1 and #2 will be used simultaneously for a taco run organized by the Channahon Park District that will have at least 250 people in attendance.

At least 22 Chartered Flight events are already on the calendar including "one up near Wisconsin," Rick Trafton said.

The Dock's margarita trucks have even been booked for two upcoming weddings, the co-owner said. The Dock is willing to drive within an hour of Joliet for someone's private event.

Now that The Dock has two Chartered Flight delivery vans, you might be wondering if the Traftons are done purchasing automobiles.

The answer is no.

"By fall, we might need to go with No. 3," Rick Trafton said. "Chartered Flight No. 3 might be on the horizon."
