National Furniture Chain Boasting 'Unsurpassed Value' Will Open its 84th U.S. Store in Joliet

JOLIET — A national furniture store with one of its three distribution centers in nearby Shorewood will soon add a new store location right here in Joliet.

Bob's Discount Furniture is renovating a former Sport's Authority building at 2700 N. Plainfield Road near the Louis Joliet Mall, according to WJOL. Owners' opening day sights are reportedly set on May.

Touting unsurpassed value, honesty and integrity Bob's Discount Furniture offers furniture and bedding from 83 showrooms in 15 states in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest U.S. But each location offers more than just a place to sit, lounge or sleep.

"All of our stores feature a complimentary cafe with gourmet coffee, ice cream, fresh baked cookies and candy," its website says. "Since 1991, Bob’s has built strong customer loyalty by offering a vast selection of fashionable and affordable furniture that surpasses 'discount' expectations."

The chain also supports its communities through two nonprofit entities: Bob's Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation and Bob's Outreach.

"The company and our staff support hundreds of nonprofit organizations with sponsorships and charitable contributions, and every year Bob's donates more than $100,000 to schools and more than $2 million to charities," according to the site.

Headquartered in Manchester, Connecticut, Bob's has distribution centers in Shorewood, Illinois; Perryman, Maryland; and Taftville, Connecticut.
