New Will County Health Department Groundbreaking Set

Joliet Mayor and top Will County executives scheduled to appear.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Will County Health Department (WCHD) building will take place on Tuesday, February 5th at 1:00 p.m.

Situated on the same campus as the old building just off of Neal Ave. in Joliet, the new WCHD building will house Environmental Health, Behavioral Health, Administration divisions and Family Health Services, which includes the WIC program. Additionally, the Will County TB Clinic will now be housed in the new building.

“We’ve done our best all these years to accommodate all of our programs,” said WCHD Executive Director Sue Olenek. “But we will now have a state of the art, purpose-built building designed specifically for the Health Department. It will be easy to navigate, allowing our clients to quickly find the programs they are looking for.”
