Nightly Closures On W. Jefferson St. in Joliet Start Monday
The traffic modifications will affect W. Jefferson St. between N. Chicago St. and N. Scott St. and is expected to last for 45 days.

Starting on Monday, March 25, drivers in Joliet can expect major delays due to nightly closures on W. Jefferson Street between N. Chicago Street and N. Scott Street. Traffic will be closed between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. each day. The nightly closures are expected to last approximately 45 days.
Work on W. Jefferson Street is required due to the Downtown Storm Sewer Improvements Project. Although the traffic modifications are only anticipated to last for 45 days, the full project is not expected to be completed until Fall. The project will include the installation of about 2800 linear feet of 60-inch and 66-inch trunk storm sewers on several streets including S. Des Plaines, Lafayette, W. Washington and W. Jefferson Streets.
Lanes will fully be closed on W. Jefferson Street throughout the night, but drivers can also expect daytime delays as only one lane traffic will be available between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Additionally, the traffic modifications will affect parking at the Will County Courthouse. The northern entrance will be closed starting March 25, but the southern entrance to the courthouse will still be accessible from W. Washington Street. PACE Bus riders will experience changes as well. Bus stops on W. Jefferson Street will be redirected to W. Washington Street throughout the modification process.
