JOLIET, IL — Joliet has been without a permanent city manager since David Hales was let go in October 2018. At 4 p.m. Friday at City Hall, the Joliet City Council will convene a special meeting to vote on an employment contract with James "Jim" Capparelli, the city notified Joliet Patch.

The only item on the public meeting agenda states: "Motion to Approve Employment Agreement for City Manager with James V. Capparelli."

Capparelli was one of the three finalists for the position earlier this year. At that time, the Joliet City Council opted not to offer any of the finalists the job.
