Park District Issues Fitness Class Schedule for Inwood

Dozens of classes are available for everyone from the beginner to the exercise fanatic.

The Joliet Park District just issued its new fitness class schedule for now through January, and there's something for everyone from the novice to the dedicated exercise fanatic available.

Below is a list of the classes offered and descriptions of what each entails. Click on the attachments with this article to see the full daily and weekend schedule.

Classes are offered at the Presence St. Joseph Inwood Athletic Club, 3000 W. Jefferson St., Joliet. Call 815-741-7275 for more information or click here to sign up for a class.

Classes and descriptions:

  • Format Rotates (Various) Check the schedule posted outside of Studio 1.
  • It’s Time (All Levels) Time to get in shape or in better shape. Exercise, cardiovascular training and flexibility are equally addressed in this class for every body.
  • Metabolic Training (All Levels) Compound exercise class with little rest between sets.
  • Resistance Training (All Levels) Improve muscle strength and endurance using studio equipment.
  • Strength, Cardio, Core Circuit (All Levels) Stations of strength and cardio complete with core.
  • Zumba (All Levels) Easy to follow movements that create a lively energetic workout.
  • Core Express (All Levels) Exercise class to improve core strength including back and hips.
  • 50+ Fitness Fusion (Beginner for Active Older Adults) Class is held on the fitness floor with instructors who lead participants through a circuit on the machines.
  • Mature Mobility (Beginner/50 or better) Low impact cardio and functional strength.
  • Mature Movement and Strength (Beginner/Intermediate for Active Older Adults) Intermittent cardio and resistance exercise using studio equipment.
  • Cardio Interval Training (Intermediate/Advanced) Predominently cardio class with intervals of exercise.
  • Fit Kickboxing (Intermediate/Advanced) A cardio and strength workout with punches, jabs, and kicks.
  • Ready, Step, Go! (Intermediate/Advanced) Bench stepping cardio plus resistance exercises and core.
  • S.O.S. (Intermediate/Advanced) Intense strength building workout with continuous movement.
  • H.I.T. (Advanced) High Intensity Training with cardio and strength drills for the entire body.
