Police: Reckless Driver On Essington Road Injures 2
Saturday night's wrecks occurred shortly after 10 p.m. None of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries, Joliet police say.

JOLIET, IL — A 22-year-old woman who lives on Racine Avenue in Chicago remains in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say she disobeyed the stop light along Essington Road, crashing into a total of three vehicles Saturday night. Two of the motorists struck by Julissa Romero were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
As for Romero, Joliet police arrested her on charges of aggravated reckless driving. Romero's first crash happened around 10:10 p.m. at the busy intersection of Theodore Street and Essington Road, police said.
"Officers determined that a vehicle driven by Romero was observed driving northbound on Essington Road approaching Theodore Street at a high rate of speed. Romero disobeyed a red traffic light and collided into a vehicle in the intersection," police said.
