Registration Deadline Feb. 18 to Vote in March Primary, Clerk Says

Anyone who is not registered or has changed their name or address must sign up with the Will County clerk's office to vote in the March 18 primary.

Feb. 18 is the last day to register in order to vote in the March 18 primary, according to Will County Clerk Nancy Schultz Voots.

Registration for the primary includes anyone who is currently 17, but will be 18 by the time the general election is held, per a new law that went into effect on Jan. 1, Schultz Voots said in a news release.

The county clerk’s office is located at 302 N. Chicago Street, Joliet, and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office will remain open until 6:00 p.m. on Feb. 18 to accommodate anyone who cannot come in during regular business hours.

In order to register, two forms of identification must be presented -- one showing the registrant's current name and address and the other showing a name only. There is no need to declare a party affiliation when registering to vote.

Anyone currently registered to vote in Will County does not need to do so again unless they have changed their name or address. If you are not sure about the status of your registration, go to www.thewillcountyclerk.com and click on "Voter Lookup" under the What’s New section to verify or call 815-740-4620.

If you have moved within Will County, complete the back portion of your voter card and return it to the county clerk’s office or e-mail your change of address to voterregistration@willcountyillinois.com.
