Rialto Urges Patrons to Be Wary of Third-Party Ticket Brokers

The Rialto Square Theatre wants to warn ticket buyers to beware of dishonest third party ticket brokers who misrepresent themselves as being the Rialto box office or having possession of valid Rialto tickets. 

Don’t be deceived by third party ticket resellers charging inflated prices for tickets to Rialto Square Theatre events. 

“If the price of a ticket for a Rialto Square Theatre event seems extremely high there is a good possibility that you are not ordering tickets from us directly.” states Randy Green, Rialto Square Theatre General Manager.  

“If buying tickets online make sure that you are actually ordering through Ticketmaster, our only online ticket seller, and not a third party reseller that seeks to profit from the attractions performing at the Rialto Square Theatre. These third party resellers often create web pages that look like legitimate box office websites. Within their site they provide a phone number or link to purchase tickets. Neither method lead you to the true Rialto box office or an official Rialto ticket online seller (Ticketmaster).”

It has been brought to our attention that customers who have contacted these third party resellers have been treated rudely, received poor customer service and have been overcharged for the performances. Also, in most circumstances, the actual seats purchased have been vague in seating location.        

The Rialto Square Theatre does not endorse these third party resellers. The only web address to purchase tickets online for the Rialto Square Theatre is through Ticketmaster http://www.ticketmaster.com/venue/57397/ .

If you do not see http://www.ticketmaster.com at the beginning of the web address then you are not purchasing through the only official online Rialto Square Theatre ticket seller. The only phone numbers to purchase over the phone is the Rialto box office at 815-726-6600 or Ticketmaster 800-982-2787.

On occasion the Rialto Square Theatre does partner with local ticket deal companies such as Groupon, Living Social or Clipper Magazine. These are legitimate businesses and should not be considered a third party reseller as the tickets are always given at a reduced price.

Unfortunately, if a ticket is purchased via a third party reseller, we have no way to assist you should any problems arise, such as lost tickets or refunds for a cancelled event. A ticket purchase via a third party reseller may not ultimately be a valid ticket.
