Road Reconstruction Closes Part Of Spencer Road Until Mid-September

The Joliet Department of Public Works said the closure runs between Cherry Hill Road and Gougar Road and won't reopen until September 15.

JOLIET, IL ? Motorists who rely on Spencer Road as part of their commuting will have to adjust for more than two months after a portion of the roadway closed on Monday for reconstruction work.

Officials announced that Spencer Road between Cherry Hill Road and Gougar Road was closed to traffic beginning on Monday. As part of the road reconstruction project, the stretch of that thoroughfare will remain closed until approximately Sept. 15, officials announced.

Detour routes will be posted throughout the construction period and drivers are advised to reduce speed, exercise caution, and seek alternate routes when traveling in the area.
