Roadwork Delays Expected On Eastbound I-80 Over Chicago Street
Deck patching will start Friday night on the bridge and last through Saturday morning.
Bridge deck patching will take place on eastbound Interstate 80 over Chicago Street (U.S. 52/Illinois 53). The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that the work will start on Friday, May 31 at 10 p.m. and last through 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, weather permitting. Due to the bridge work, two lanes will be closed, and one lane of traffic is expected to remain open at all times.
Motorists are urged to allow extra time for travel in that area during those hours. Flaggers and signs will be in the work zones. Drivers should pay close attention to the speed limits in the area and watch out for the workers and equipment.
