Saw It on eBay: Old Joliet Citizens Brewing Co. Soda Bottle

Many products that we find mass-produced today were once provided by local businesses that made their living by selling to mom-and-pop stores and to the public directly.

And every so often, a remnant of the past finds its way to eBay, with a price tag attached.

In this case, it's a bottle that once held soda produced by the Joliet Citizens Brewing Co. It's just 7.5 inches tall and held 7 ounces of carbonated beverage. Compare that to the average soda can today, which hold 12 ounces.

The buyer says the bottle has "case wear and minor hazing," and has placed the opening bid at $7.99 (plus $7 shipping).
