Semi-Truck Kills Employee At Joliet Business On Laraway Road

JOLIET, IL —A 41-year-old employee at the Newstream Enterprises on East Laraway Road was killed at work Wednesday afternoon after a semi-trailer ran him over, according to Joliet Fire Chief Greg Blaskey.

The work place emergency was reported to the Joliet Fire Department around 2:40 p.m. Newstream Enterprises. Firefighters from Station 3 responded to the business at 1151 East Laraway Road.

Paramedics found the 41-year-old "an employee of the facility, had been run over by a semi-truck, driven by another employee, while backing up," Fire Chief Greg Blaskey said.

The employee suffered extensive injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. The Joliet Police Department is investigating the incident, Blaskey said.

The victim's name has not been released by authorities, yet.
