Sierra Club Makes 3 Joliet City Council Endorsements

For the first time, Sierra Club Illinois Chapter is endorsing candidates for Joliet City Council.

JOLIET, IL — Sierra Club Illinois is excited to endorse Warren C. Dorris, Cesar Guerrero and Hudson Hollister for the April 6 municipal election in the Joliet City Council races.

All three candidates support equitable economic growth through comprehensive city planning. They recognize a comprehensive economic development plan is integral to creating a diverse and sustainable economy which provides living wages, holds polluters accountable and allows all families and small businesses to prosper.

According to the Sierra Club of Illinois: Dorris, Hollister and Guerrero "are committed to finding sustainable solutions to the city’s significant water and infrastructure problems. They advocate governmental transparency and meaningful police reform, and understand all areas of the community deserve quality services and amenities. They intend to respectfully listen to constituents and represent them with an inclusive vision in order to achieve these goals.

"Joliet is home to amazing resources. Now, more than ever, Joliet needs local elected officials who will protect these resources. Municipal leaders make the decisions that impact people’s daily lives. With its endorsement of Dorris, Guerrero and Hollister, Sierra Club Illinois aims to achieve a healthful environment for the City of Champions and help it thrive."
