Submit Nominations For Annual Joliet Historic Preservation Award
The nomination period opened on Jan. 1 and will end next Friday, March 1.
JOLIET, IL — It’s that time of year again. The nomination period for the Annual Joliet Historic Preservation Award ends next Friday, March 1.
Every year since 2008, the City of Joliet has honored one or more properties or individuals for this prestigious award. According to the City, awards are given to properties that have recently undergone restoration, rehabilitation, exterior and/or interior preservation, adaptive use and sympathetic additions of the property. Individuals are awarded this great honor based on their commitment and dedication to historic preservation.

- MyGrain Brewery
- University of St. Francis for the renovation of the St. Clare campus/former Guardian Angel Home (2017)
- Joliet Township High School for the Fieldhouse addition and new Student Center at Galleria addition to the Central Campus (2016)
- University of St. Francis for adaptive reuse of the Motherhouse and the rehabilitation of the former Mode Theatre into the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center (2015)
- Karl and Rebecca Darley for their extensive renovation of 506 Buell Avenue (2011)
- Jeff Bussean for the relocation of the John D'Arcy home on south Center Street (2008)
Nomination forms can be found here, and physical forms are also available for pick up in the Community Development Department at City Hall, 150 W. Jefferson Street.
