Teen With Xanax Punches, Threatens To Kill Walmart Customer: Cops
The 16-year-old boy also had a backpack filled with Xanax and he attacked the Joliet police at the time of his arrest, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A 16-year-old boy suspected to be under the influence of drugs Tuesday night punched a Walmart customer in the face and threatened to kill the man inside the Route 59 store, according to Joliet police. Outside the squad car, the teen kicked and bit a Joliet police officer and he also kicked another Joliet officer in the head later at the police station, reports show.
The boy had brought a backpack into the Walmart store and Xanax was found inside it, police said.
The Joliet police were eventually able to put the boy into the back of a squad car and deliver him to the River Valley Justice Center where he faces two charges of possession of controlled substances, retail theft, disorderly conduct, resisting a peace officer and battery, reports show.

Joliet police cars rolled up to the Route 59 Walmart disturbance call around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
"Officers determined that the juvenile was in the electronics section of the store at which time Walmart employees observed the juvenile conceal a cell phone in his pocket," police said.

The boy reached over the counter and stole several items of merchandise by stuffing them into his pants, police say.
"A short time later, the juvenile approached a customer and punched him in the face multiple times while threatening to kill him," according to police reports
At the store, Joliet police captured the 16-year-old and put him under arrest.
"Officers searched the juvenile and recovered a large number of pills suspected to be Xanax in a clear bag as well as the merchandise that the juvenile had taken," police announced.
However, the boy refused to go inside the squad car; he kicked and bit one of the Joliet police officers, police said.
"Officers were eventually able to secure the juvenile and he was transported to the Joliet Police Department where the juvenile kicked another officer in the head. It was determined that the juvenile may have been under the influence of drugs," reports show.
