RDC Gardeners Holiday Gathering

As we put the 2013 growing season behind us, it is time for our gardening community to celebrate the vegetables, fruits and the friendships we have grown throughout this year. Join us for a casual potluck get-together to visit with old friends and meet some new ones as we talk about gardening past and future. Beverages will be provided.

Organic gardening has as many different definitions and methods as there are gardeners who practice it. Deciding to garden organically – without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers – has benefits but it also presents some challenges. Join Nancy Kuhajda, garden expert, for a discussion of organic strategies that will enhance your garden and gardening experience. Topics will include: use of floating row covers, timing of planting, beneficial insects and pest/disease.
