Unidentified Body Found in Abandoned Vehicle
The body found in Joliet Township appears to be a male, Will County Sheriff's police said. An autopsy was scheduled Monday.
JOLIET TOWNSHIP, IL — Will County Sheriff's police are investigating after a body was found Monday morning in a car in Joliet Township.
Police were called about an abandoned vehicle on Rosalind Avenue, west of Farrell Road in Joliet Township. The body was found during a search of the 2004 GMC Envoy, according to the Will County Sheriff's office.
The Will County Coroner’s Office took possession of the body and will perform an autopsy later today. The case is currently being considered an active death investigation.
