Woman Crashes Through Domino's Pizza Window: 3 Hospitalized

The 34-year-old woman was later listed in good condition at Silver Cross Hospital after driving her car into the Domino's on Collins Street.

JOLIET, IL — A mother and her 10-year-old child who were customers inside the Domino's Pizza at 571 Collins St. needed to be taken to AMITA Health St. Joseph Medical Center Friday night after a 34-year-old woman lost control of her car and crashed through the glass storefront of the Domino's, according to authorities.

The incident happened around 5:40 p.m.

Joliet Fire Chief Greg Blaskey advised Patch that the woman who crashed into the storefront was able to back her car out of the Domino's and into the parking lot before Joliet Fire Department ambulances got to the scene of the incident.

The woman was taken to Silver Cross Hospital and listed in good condition, the chief said.

Additionally, a 36-year-old woman and her 10-year-old son suffered minor injuries after being struck by flying debris when the car crashed into the pizza place. The two were taken to AMITA St. Joe's and were listed in good condition, the fire chief said.

"The City of Joliet Building department was called to the scene to assess the building for any structural damage. The Joliet Police Department is investigating the incident," Blaskey added.
