Man Admits to Drug Activity

During a bike stop at Washington and East avenues, a 58-year-old Brookfield man admitted he had been settling a drug debt in the 0-100 block of Washington Avenue around 3:20 p.m. He was released from the scene.

Possible Break-in Reported

A woman in the 0-100 block of North Drexel Avenue reported her door was open when she got home around 1 p.m.

Sunday, December 8

Shirtless Teen 

A man reported a male teen wearing sweatpants and no shirt who was walking around outside at the intersection of Goodman and Peck around 6:20 p.m.

Driving Without a License 

Police charged Richard Mulville, 21, of Peoria, with driving without a license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident near the intersection of 47th Avenue and La Grange Road around 6:40 p.m. He was given a Jan. 9 court date and released on bond.

Possible Break-in Reported

A man reported someone damaged the back door of his newly-purchased home in the 800 block of South Catherine Avenue around 1:10 p.m. Nothing was reported stolen.

DUI

Police charged James Summers, 34, of Countryside, with driving under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop at the intersection of East Avenue and Joliet Road around 1 a.m. He was given a Feb. 7 court date.

Saturday, December 7

Driving Without a License

Police charged Marcello Rodarte, 35, of Berwyn, with driving without a license during a stop at the intersection of Harris and 6th avenues around 5:40 p.m. He was given a Dec. 31 court date.

Car Vandalized

A man in the 500 block of South Madison Avenue requested extra watch in the area after someone smashed the rear window of his car around 12:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $500, police said. Police said the resident had been involved in an altercation with someone and suspected they may have been responsible. 

Wallet Stolen at Corner Bakery

Someone stole a woman’s wallet from Corner Bakery, 39 N. La Grange Rd., around 3:20 p.m.

Friday, December 6

Driving Without a License 

Police charged Rafael Ramirez, 45, of Chicago, with driving without a license during a stop near the intersection of East Avenue and Calendar Street around 4:45 p.m. He was given a Jan. 9 court date.

Bike Stolen

Someone stole a bike from a rack at the train station in the 0-100 block of West Burlington Avenue.

Thursday, December 5

Reckless Driver Reported 

Someone reported reckless driving after a driver almost hit a bicyclist at the intersection of Cossitt and Brainard avenues around 5:30 p.m.

Identity Theft

A man reported someone opened up a Bank of America account in his name in Miami around 1:50 p.m.

Sunday, November 24

Man Runs Red Light, Hits Car 

Police charged Alexander Vorhees, 19, of Brookfield, with a traffic violation after he hit another car the intersection of Harris Street and Rt. 45 around 7:30 p.m. Police said Vorhees was driving east on Harris and entered the intersection while the light was still red, striking a Mercury Sable driving north on Rt. 45. No one was injured.
