$2K Car Part Stolen, Soapy Fountain: La Grange Cops
An expensive car part is stolen from a truck, report says.

LA GRANGE, IL — In the last few days, La Grange police handled cases involving the theft of a $2,000 car part, a soapy fountain, a DUI, a school shed burglary, shoplifting and stolen bicycles. Here is information from the latest La Grange police reports:
Converter stolen
- A catalytic converter was stolen from a truck overnight June 16 in the 10 block of Beach Avenue. The converter was valued at $1,500 to $2,000. Converters contain metals that have become a lot more valuable since last year.

- An officer saw soap coming out of the fountain about 4 a.m. Sunday at 80 Sixth Ave. Security footage showed two people dropping a plastic bag in the fountain.
DUI
- Theresa Claybrooks, 60, of Chicago, was arrested about 1 a.m. June 18 at 47th Street and Brainard Avenue on charges of DUI and improper parking on the roadway.
Warrant

- Raul Valenzuela, 24, of La Grange Park, was arrested about 4 p.m. June 16 on a DuPage County warrant charging failure to appear in court.
School shed broken into
- A plastic shed used to store playground equipment was broken into June 18 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School, 145 N. Waiola Ave. The equipment was tossed around the playground.
Shoplifting
- A man stole several cosmetic items June 18 from Walgreens, 2 N. La Grange Road. They were valued at $436. The items consisted of razors, deodorant and Tide Pods.
Stolen bicycles
- A locked bicycle was stolen Saturday near MilkStop restaurant, 700 W. Burlington Ave.
- A child's bicycle was stolen between 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday from a rack at the Stone Avenue train station, 701 W. Burlington Ave. The Schwinn bike was valued at $300.
- An unlocked black bicycle was stolen Tuesday from the side of a building in the 1300 block of West Cossitt Avenue.
Egging
- A house in the 300 block of South Sunset Avenue was egged overnight Monday.
Lawn items taken
- Two copper decorative lawn items were taken between June 17 and June 24 in the 100 block of South Catherine Avenue.
