Countryside Police Warn of Residential Break-In
Burglars steal jewelry, cash in a residential break-in on the 5700 block of Ninth Avenue, just over the Countryside/La Grange border.

Countryside police are asking residents to supply any information they have about a residential burglary that was reported on Aug. 29 at about 1:11 p.m.
The owner of a home on the 5700 block of Ninth Avenue told police he left his home 11:15 a.m. and returned at 1 p.m. to find the back door of his home had been forced open. The victim also found that the upstairs bedrooms had been ransacked.
Police spoke with a garbage man who was in the area at the time of the break-in and he told police he had seen a silver, four-door Honda, possibly an Accord, backed into the driveway at about 12:45 p.m.

The garbage man said he saw two men return from the back of the house to the car, drive south down Ninth Avenue and then east on 58th Street. Both men were described as in their 20s, of thin build and having short hair. One man was described as black and the other Hispanic, according to police.
Items stolen included miscellaneous gold jewelry and an unreleased amount of cash. The burglars left several item behind—video cameras and other electronics—in one of the bedrooms.
