Craft Fair returns to La Grange July 16 through July 18

The 47th annual Craft Fair returns to La Grange on Friday, July 16 through Sunday, July 18, and organizers are planning for strong attendance as consumers embrace a return to live events.

The Craft Fair, which was cancelled in 2020, will feature hand-made items from 175 artisans from throughout the Midwest, according to the La Grange Business Association, the organizer. One-of-a-kind items including original paintings and yard art to handmade clothing, jewelry, soaps and accessories. It was recently named one of the top craft fairs in the nation.

Located on Harris Ave., west of La Grange road, the Craft Fair will take place 10 AM - 5 PM each day. Expanded free parking is available at Lyons Township High School North Campus (100 S Brainard Ave.) and free shuttle transportation from North Campus to Cossitt School (115 W Cossitt Ave) will be provided on Saturday and Sunday.

The sale of arts and crafts supplies grew nearly 70% last year as consumers flocked to the DIY market in order to stay occupied at home. Additionally, interest in hand-made items has remained stable as consumers moved to online platforms to support their favorite artisans during the pandemic.

"Lots of crafters focused on developing new product lines and learning new techniques during the shutdown," said Rebecca Yackley-Thomas, of Craft Productions Inc, the show promoter. "We've seen a strong movement to support local artisans. Everyone immediately understood how this was going to affect these local makers that could no longer connect with new customers at shows. Shoppers were really supportive of exhibitors pivoting to online sales. Now, they're incredibly enthusiastic to be able to meet at live events again."

The craft fair is held with the support of the Village of La Grange and sponsored by Chiro One Wellness Centers.
