Drivers Throw Things at Each Other, Car Burglarized at Park: Blotter

Wednesday, May 1

Suspended, revoked license

Emmanuel Diaz, 28, of the 3200 block of North Washington in Franklin Park, was arrested around 12:15 a.m. near the intersection of Shawmut and La Grange Road, police said. He was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Teens with alcohol in park

Police found two teenagers with alcohol in Waiola Park around 12:29 a.m., police said. Officers told them they were violating the local ordinance, as well as the park’s hours, then threw out the alcohol and sent them on their way.

Hit and run at Harris and La Grange

Someone struck the driver’s side mirror of a car parked near the intersection of Harris and La Grange around 3:03 p.m. and drove away, police said.

Warrant arrest

Matthew Brennan, 37, of the 1400 block of Forest in La Grange Park, was arrested around 8:46 a.m. at his home on two outstanding warrants, police said. Both were for DUI charges. One warrant was out of Summit and the other out of DuPage County, police said.

Blackhawks flag stolen

A Blackhawks flag was stolen from a flagpole in front of a home in the 400 block of South Kensington Avenue sometime between 7 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday, police said. The flag is 3-feet tall by 4-feet wide and is worth about $100.

Man takes pictures from car

A caller reported a man taking pictures from a white sedan in the 1000 block of South Spring Avenue around 12:09 p.m., police said. Officers were unable to find the car.

Drivers throw cans, unidentified objects at each other

Two people were driving erratically and cutting each other off while traveling south on La Grange Road when one of them started throwing things at the other, police said. The man who eventually called police started throwing cans back at the driver of a Volkswagen Jetta while they were driving between 47th Street and Plainfield Road around 12:14 p.m., police said. The driver of the Jetta got out of his car and hit the other man’s window but didn’t cause any damage. Police were unable to locate that driver.

Monday, April 29

Suspended registration

James E. O’Connor, 60, of the 600 block of Champlaine in Westmont, was arrested around 6:02 p.m. near the intersection of 53rd and La Grange, police said. He was charged with having suspended registration, police said.

Car burglary

A purse was taken from a car parked around 8:15 p.m. in the Gordon Park lot, police said. About an hour later, the woman who reported the burglary said she saw a suspicious person drive by while looking at her and her car, which was still in the lot, police said.
