Imagination runs wild on eight tiny legs in a new children's book by local La Grange artist-turned-author, Christine Banks.

Join in the Adventures of Beanie the Spider as she floats, flies and sails the seas of imagination in her fine art gallery featuring real artwork! Inspired by a spider living on one of Christine's paintings, it's a sweet story written in rhyme about discovery, creativity and friendship.
Enjoyable for adults to read to children and for young independent readers alike, Adventures of Beanie the Spider is a great way to introduce children to art galleries and the arts, and is a repeatable favorite for the whole family with engaging after-the-story activities at the end of the book, as well as supplemental online content for all ages.

Autographed copies will be available for a limited time direct from the author at in-person events. You may also find the book at your local library.

This Summer, Adventures of Beanie the Spider is teaming up with local businesses to promote reading, the arts, and good old fashioned fun!

• SATURDAY, JUNE 26, 11am It's artsy fun & games, and story-time live with author/illustrator Christine Banks at the South Haven Memorial Library with friends from the South Haven Center for the Arts in beautiful coastal Michigan.
• NOW thru AUGUST Pick up a free Beanie the Spider Flavor Adventure playing card from any
Nonna's GoodLife Pizza or Trugurt location to play for a chance to win book & art supplies prize basket.
• FRIDAY, JULY 16, 2-4pm Summer adventures continue with Beanie the Spider games and prizes at Tate's Old Fashioned Ice Cream in La Grange, Illinois.
• COMING in JULY More fun to come when Beanie the Spider visits her friends at Steak+Vine Restaurant.
COUNTRY HOUSE RESTAURANT in Clarendon Hills, Illinois wrapped up a Beanie the Spider coloring contest with an author meet & greet party June 5th. Over 90 young artists between the ages of 4 to 12 entered to win the grand prize book and art supplies basket.
