FRIDAY, AUG. 17
Awakened By Pounding in the Night
A resident on the 300 block of south Bluff Avenue called police at 4:49 a.m. to report that someone pounding on the door of the home had awakened them. Police said the Cook County Sheriff's Department was there and had was attempting to serve a court summons at a different unit of the building.

Bike Found in Yard
A girls Magna Glacier Point blue-and-green bike was found in a yard on the 1000 block of south Sixth Avenue at 3:29 a.m. Police picked up the bike.
Teens Egging People on Street
Police got a report at 9:36 p.m. that five minutes before the call a few teens in a brown Ford Escape had egged people in the street. Police checked the area, but did not find anyone.

A Bike Seat Stolen Makes for a Rough Ride
A resident told police at 8:34 p.m. that the bike seat was stolen off his bike on the 0-100 block of Calendar Avenue.
Packaged Received, But Empty
A resident of the 0-100 block of east 50th Street told police at 3:55 p.m. that a package he had ordered from eBay for $570.01 had arrived, but the package was empty. The items that were supposed to be delivered were two 5-gram Suisse gold bars.
Suspicious Driver Just Digging His Tunes
A caller told police that a suspicious vehicle had been sitting in front of Sawyer Park for several hours at 11:52 p.m. Police found the car and the driver, who was just listening to music.
WEDNESDAY, AUG. 15
Son's Car Egged, No Damage
A caller on the 400 block of south Peck Avenue told police at 4:03 a.m. that he had returned home to find his son’s car egged in front of the house. The resident said there was no damage and he would wash the egg off.
Kids in Park Scatter, But Return Later
Police were called to the 500 block of south Waiola Avenue about a large group of kids in the park at 12:36 a.m. When police arrived the youngsters scattered, but the caller called back at 1:32 a.m. to report they had returned. No one was there when police arrived.
Feces Left on Chair
A resident of the 100 block of south Spring Avenue reported to police at 1:42 p.m. that an unknown person had put feces on the chairs on his front porch. He believed it might be neighborhood kids, because there was "ding dong ditching" going on at his residence. Police made a special watch of the area.
Skateboard Stolen
A skateboard was stolen out of a garage on the 500 block of south Catherine Avenue, a resident reported at 9:44 a.m.
Vulgar Graffiti Wipes Off
Vandalism was reported on the 0-100 block of south Sixth Avenue at 9:46 p.m. The resident complained that someone had spray painted her car with a vulgar phrase. An officer determined it was not spray paint, that it wiped off and there was no permanent damage. The woman believed the suspects to be three males and asked the officer to talk with them if they were found.
Golf Balls Taken
The La Grange Country Club reported at 6:49 p.m. to police that three men had come onto the property, taken some golf balls and left. They wanted the area checked.
TUESDAY, AUG. 14
Son Told to Stop Harassing Father
A resident called police at 6:21 p.m. to report that he has been getting harassing messages from his son. The resident told police that he has not had contact with him since his son was 8 years old. Additionally, the father was worried that his older son will start harassing his younger son. Police said the son was advised to no longer contact his father and the son said he would comply.
Solicitor Can't Say What Company He Works For
A solicitor was reported at 3:57 p.m. on the 200 block of Harris Avenue who would not tell the resident what company he worked for. The solicitor was last seen headed east on Harris Avenue towards Madison Avenue. Police checked the area, but could not locate the man.
MONDAY, AUG. 13
Rude Religious Solicitor Reported
A religious solicitor on the 700 block of south Ashland Avenue was reported to police at about 8:31 p.m. The resident told police the solicitor was rude to her. Police sent someone out to check out the area.
It's Nature's Fault
A resident on the 600 block of south Brainard Avenue called police at 7:49 p.m. to report that she has a tree in her backyard whose branches extend to the property of her neighbor. The neighbor is not happy when branches and leaves fall on his property and throws them back into her yard to be disposed. She told police she thought the neighbor should clean them up, since it's nature's fault the branches fall on his property. The resident also told police that ComEd told her the tree is in fine shape after they trimmed the branches. An officer spoke with both parties and advised them to stay away from each other.
Teens Leave Drug Wrappers
Police received a report from a resident at 6:32 p.m. that a car has been parking outside his home on the 0-100 block of East Avenue on and off for the last few months. He believes teenagers are in the car getting high. The vehicle is a white Blazer. The teens come at different times during the day, and they leave behind garbage and marijuana wrappers, the resident said. The car was not at the location at the time of the call, but police removed the garbage and told the resident to call the next time the car is there.
Bike Found at Seventh Avenue School
A bike was found at Seventh Avenue School at 6:08 p.m. The bike was described as a blue men's mountain bike. It is being held at the police station.
Rock Strikes Car
A resident called police at 4:46 p.m. to report that a rock that came from a Department of Public Works lawnmower at 55th Street and Edgewood Avenue had stuck his car. Police advised the caller to send the information to Village Hall because it is a civil, not a criminal, matter.
Bike Reported Stolen
A bike was reported stolen from Seventh Avenue School at 3:55 p.m. The bike is described as a green Diamondback Viper with a gold ring in the middle of the bike.
Kids Walking Along Tracks Sent on Way
A concerned citizen told police at 3:42 p.m. that they saw three kids walking along the tracks on the area of the 200-300 blocks of Bluff Avenue. Police located the kids and told them they should not be on the property, and they were sent on their way.
