LA GRANGE HIGHLANDS, IL — The family-owned and operated organic mattress company, My Green Mattress, says it is committed to making organic, machine washable and dryer safe face masks for the state Department of Public Health. The masks are being handmade with two layers of certified organic cotton at the company's organic certified factory in Willowbrook, according to a news release. The showroom is in La Grange Highlands.

"We posted a photo of the masks on the My Green Mattress instagram and the requests came pouring in," spokeswoman Erin Gourley told Patch in an email Friday. "Just today, we committed 75 to Beds Plus Homeless Shelter (in La Grange) and 75 more are going to the Wrigleyville Veterinary office."

Owners Tim and Cindy Masters are donating the masks directly to Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike of the Department of Public Health to oversee the distribution of the donated masks to as many local hospitals as possible, the release said. The masks are not available for sale
