This La Grange Restaurant A Pandemic Casualty
Business announces its closure in a Facebook post earlier this month.
LA GRANGE, IL — Altiro Latin Fusion, 1 S. La Grange Road, is among the casualties of the pandemic, which prompted the shutdown of restaurant dining rooms for months. The small chain that owns the eatery announced its closure on Facebook earlier this month.
"These past few months have been incredible with all of your continued support," the restaurant said in the July 6 post. "Although we wish we could continue fighting and trying, we have to do what's best for the Altiro Group. Please continue to support not only our other locations but all small businesses that are trying to survive during these trying times."
According to the chain's website, it still has locations in Wheaton, Geneva and Aurora. The company says its dishes are presented in "a tapa-style way, inspired by Spain's tapas, which are small Spanish savory dishes, typically served with drinks at a bar." The chain said it buys all of its ingredients locally.

In late March, La Buona Vita restaurant closed after six years in town. The Italian eatery blamed its closure on the "perfect storm" of limited resources and the governor's pandemic shutdown order.
On Facebook, customers expressed disappointment about Altiro's closure.
