Participating stores throughout La Grange will bring their merchandise out onto the sidewalks and offer discounted pricing both indoors and out on Friday and Saturday, August 28-29, according to the La Grange Business Association.

Shoppers will find beautiful merchandise and unique items as retailers make room for fall inventory. Nearly 30 businesses are participating in the end-of-summer sales promotion. Some locations will display sale items in-store only; some will display limited items in front of their businesses. Masks and social distancing are required inside of all retailers. Hours of operation vary by location.

Store owners are being creative is their offerings. Whisper Me Home is featuring a pop-up vintage furniture shop in a garage behind their store; unique artisans will display their wares outside of LUXXE/HONOR, shoppers will "roll for a discount" at Fair Game and customers at La Grange Upholsterywill receive a free face mask with every quote, among others.

Retailers are enthusiastic about the promotion, as it appeals to their regular customers as well as introduces new shoppers to their stores, said Nancy Cummings, executive director of the La Grange Business Association, the event's organizer.

"An end-of-season sales promotion like this helps our small businesses make up some critical lost revenue. And it's a great way for shoppers to explore all that La Grange has to offer. With some of our restaurants offering sidewalk food and beverage specials, it's a perfect way to spend a summer day," she said.
