La Grange Restaurant Week to Kick Off Jan. 30

La Grange Restaurant Week runs Jan. 30-Feb. 9, when nine area restaurants will offer special prix fixe menus for up to $25.

Nine La Grange restaurants Thursday will kick off a ten-day foodie festival, featuring specialty menus to highlight the talent of La Grange's local chefs at nine participating restaurants.

Sponsored by the La Grange Business Association (LGBA) and the Village of La Grange, the third annual La Grange Restaurant Week runs Jan. 30 through Feb. 9, and will offer prix fixe menus for up to $25 at each of the eateries.

The event, according to the LGBA, "is designed to drive additional restaurant covers in February, a traditionally slow time of the year, and give patrons the opportunity to enjoy prix fixe menus."

The nine participating restaurants are: Bella Bacinos at 36 S. La Grange Road, Chequers of La Grange at 100 W. Burlington, Francesca’s Bellezza at 75 S. La Grange Road, Kama Indian Bistro at 8 W. Burlington, Marconi’s Ristorante at 15 W. Calendar, Palmer Place at 56 S. La Grange Road, Prasino at 93 S. La Grange Road, Thipi Thai at 25 W. Calendar and Wild Monk at 88 S. La Grange Road.

While its the third year of the event, it's the first year the LGBA will offer a three-course prix fixe menu at each location, LGBA Executive Director Nancy Cummings said in an email.

She said restaurant owners wanted to keep the La Grange Restaurant Week offer consistent with what is being featured during Chicago's Restaurant Week—which runs during a similar time period—but at more attractive prices.

"We're expecting it to be very popular," she said.

"Our goal is to appeal not only to local foodies who already know what La Grange has to offer, but to expand our reach to visitors who may have heard about our restaurants but never taken the time to explore them."

Cummings added that Kama Indian Bistro owner Vikram Singh will appear on WGN-TV's Lunchbreak live cooking segment on Wednesday, Jan. 29 to promote La Grange Restaurant Week.
