Man Falls Asleep in Cab After Refusing to Pay

Darin T. Rajan, 31, of Forest Park, was booked on a warrant for his arrest after he fell asleep in the back of a cab at Harlem and Harrison at 4:04 a.m. April 5.

Police saw a cab driver with his emergency flashers on, and when they investigated the driver said Rajan told him he wasn't going to pay his fare, then fell asleep in the back of the car.

After multiple attempts, police said they were able to wake Rajan, who smelled like alcohol. He then paid his fare with a credit card.

Police ran his name and found that he had an active warrant out of Will County, so he was booked and released after receiving a court date from Will County.

Teen Steals Wallet, Uses ID to Get in Bar

Tyler R. Reilly, 18, of Forest Park, was charged with theft, possession of stolen property, obstructing justice and unlawful use of a driver's license at 1:47 a.m. April 7.

Police said they saw Reilly, whom they knew from previous interactions, walk up to Chalk Tavern in 7400 block of Madison Street, show the bouncer an ID and enter the bar.

An officer knew Reilly was 18, so he went into the bar and told Reilly to leave because he's not 21. "Yes I am," Reilly reportedly told police. He showed police a driver's license of someone else's, and police searched his wallet and found it also contained a health insurance card of that person's.

Reilly said he got into a physical altercation with that person earlier in the night and felt he was "losing," so he took the person's wallet.

He was given a May 28 court date.

About one month ago, Reilly was charged with public intoxication after police said he was seen staggering westbound on Randolph at 2:10 a.m.

Police said he was also yelling loudly and swearing, and once he was at the station he threw himself onto the ground.
