Friday, 1/1: Sugihara: Conspiracy of Kindness, Education Room 2 p.m.

View and discuss this movie about how a Japanese diplomat saved thousands of Jewish refugees during WWII. Discussion led by Chaplain Carol Taylor.

Sunday, 1/3: Soundz of Time Singing Duo, Albert Hall 2 p.m.

Monday, 1/4: Hymn Sing, Albert Hall 2 p.m.

Mondays: 1/4, 11, 18: Stories of My Life, MPR 3 p.m.

Join Chaplain Taylor and fellow residents to reminisce and understand that all our stories have meaning.

Wednesday, 1/6: Drumming Circle, Albert Hall 2 p.m.

Come learn about drums from all over the world and play them for creativity and stress release.

Friday, 1/8: Cruise to Turkey, Dole Hall 3 p.m. Our cruise around the world destination this month is Turkey. Residents are invited to enjoy a travelogue and

share stories and memorabilia. New 2016 passports will be handed out. Enjoy a sweet treat from this country.

Sunday, 1/10: Musician Greg Herriges: Tribute to Turkish Music, Dole Hall 2:30 p.m.

Greg Herriges creates an eclectic mix of original and traditional “whirled music” on bouzouki, guitar, and other world instruments, with a unique approach honed by his studies of Turkish, Greek, Asian, and other international styles. A virtuoso performer and award-winning composer, his music and writing have found international recognition. He is also a soundtrack artist and author of instructional books on world music

Thursday, 1/14: Elder Abuse Prevention, Dole Hall 1:30 p.m.

Tammy Jimenez will present a program on Elder Abuse Prevention, including what is considered abuse, signs to look for and how to report it.

An encore program by Rev. Betty Youdris retired deacon of the United Methodist Church presenting the importance of quilts during the Civil War. All Are Welcome to attend program.

Joe Fire will be sharing some fun guitar music and singing.

Norman Livingston Kerr, MSW, VP UCAN Chicago; Director Peace Hub Chicago UCAN and Peace Hub are faith-based organizations that work with youth aged 12-24 to reduce exposure to and/or participation in violence. They help heal traumatized youth, strengthen communities and build future leaders.
