Quarry Blasting Concerns In La Grange?
Village has an outlet for residents to report how the McCook quarries affect them.
LA GRANGE, IL — If you're upset with the blasting at either of the quarries in neighboring McCook, you have an outlet — the Lyons Township Quarry Council. Years ago, area towns, including La Grange, formed the group to funnel residents' concerns to the quarry operators.
While the quarries' blasts must comply with state law, the impacts of the operations on residents can vary, La Grange Village Manager Adrianna Peterson said at Monday's Village Board meeting.
Residents' reports about the blasting and dust are used by the quarries to evaluate potential changes such as blast intensity, blast configurations and the location of blasts, Peterson said.
