LT Speaker to Address Substance Abuse and Adolescents

Speaker discuss how the adolescent brain works to make decisions and how these processes are altered by drug abuse at LT.

The Lyons Township High School Student Assistance Program on Wednesday, Nov. 6, will host speaker T. Celeste Napier, Ph.D for a presentation on substance abuse and the adolescent brain in collaboration with Robert Crown Health Education Center. 

Napier will discuss how the adolescent brain works to make decisions and how these processes are altered by drug abuse. 

Napier is a Professor in the Departments of Pharmacology and Psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center. She also serves as the Director for the Center for Compulsive Behavior and Addiction at Rush University, and the Chairperson for the Drug Abuse and HIV Scientific Working Area for the Chicago Developmental Center for AIDS Research.

The program begins at 7 p.m. in the North Campus Reber Center and is free and open to the community.
