Friday, Aug. 23

Car Window Smashed

A window was smashed on a car in an employee lot in the 5100 block of Willow Springs Road, police said.

No Driver's License

Maria Delatorr, 28, of the 4600 block of Custer in Lyons, was arrested around 3:19 p.m. near the intersection of Maple and La Grange, police said. She was charged with driving without a license.

Herds of Kids Gather Outside Cossitt School

About 30 kids were throwing rocks and climbing on cars in the area of the Cossitt School parking lot around 7:52 p.m., police said. Most of them were not on Cossitt property. Police sent the kids on their way without incident. Herds of kids were also reported near the back gate of Cossitt around 8:08 p.m., around Harris and Ashland at 8:55 p.m. and on the sidewalks outside Cossitt around 10:27 p.m.

Disturbance at Sedgwick Park

A group of five kids caused a disturbance near the Sedgwick Park Field House around 10:10 p.m., police said.

Yelling, Slamming Pay Phone

A man was reportedly yelling and slamming down the pay phone at the La Grange Road Train Station around 1:04 p.m., police said. He was taken to La Grange Memorial Hospital.

Thursday, Aug. 22

No Driver's License

Nathapitong Weerklaew, 42, of the 4500 block of Village Square Lane in Brookfield, was arrested near the intersection of La Grange Road and Harris around 8:29 p.m., police said. He was charged with driving without a license.

Sign Stolen from Parking Garage

The turnaround sign was stolen from the top floor of the downtown parking garage, police said.

Wednesday, Aug. 21

Suspended, Revoked License

Juan C. Hernandez, 21, of the 7100 block of West Pershing in Berwyn, was arrested around 7:33 a.m. near the intersection of Ashland and Ogden, police said. He was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Customer Spits on Trader Joe's Floor

A customer got into a dispute with employees at Trader Joe’s around 12:46 p.m. and spit on the floor as he left, police said. He was gone by the time officers arrived.

Tuesday, Aug. 20

Suspicious Man with Hammer Calls to Woman

A woman reported that a man standing next to a vehicle motioned and called for her to come to him as she was jogging near 6th and Burlington around 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 18, police said. There was a hammer on the back of the vehicle. The woman said no and continued running. She told police she was unsure of the man's intentions. The man didn’t say anything else or come near her, police said. 

He is described as a white man between the ages of 20 and 30 with a stocky build, dark blonde curly hair and a full beard. The vehicle was a dark late model, though it’s exact type is not known. Officers advised her to call 911 immediately if she sees him again.

Stolen iPad2

An iPad2 with an orange protective case was taken from the La Grange Public Library.
