1 Dead, 1 Wounded In 'Unrelated' Shootings In Waukegan: Police
No one is in custody for either of the shootings, which occurred Tuesday night. Police said they appear unrelated.

WAUKEGAN, IL — Two unrelated shootings in Waukegan Tuesday night left one dead and one wounded, police said in a news release.
At around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, 24-year-old Marshawn Pettis of Waukegan was found wounded in the street by police near the 2100 block of Williamsburg Drive. Police responded to reports of gunfire and took the man to Advocate Condell Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. According to the Lake County Coroner's Office, Pettis died of multiple gunshot wounds.
In the second shooting, another man in his 20s was found in the parking lot of an apartment complex on the 200 block of Julian Street at around 9:10 p.m. Police said that man was taken to a local hospital and is reported to be in "stable" condition.

The name of the injured victim has not been released yet and no one is in custody for either of the shootings.
Waukegan police said in a press release on Wednesday afternoon that they were following up on "many leads."
