Author Thomas Dyja to Speak at Lake Forest Senior Center

On Thursday, April 18 at 1:30 p.m., Thomas Dyja will have a conversation with Professor Schulze from Lake Forest College about his new book, The Third Coast. The talk will take place in Dickinson Hall at the Lake Forest Senior Center. The summary of the book, which focuses on Chicago in the mid-20th century, is below:

Though today it can seem as if all American culture comes out of New York and Los Angeles, much of what defined the nation was produced in Chicago. Before air travel, nearly every coast - to - coast journey included a stop there, and this flow of people and commodities made it America's central clearinghouse, laboratory, and factory.
