Bears Lineman Kyle Long Buys New Home in Lake Forest

Fan favorite upgrades and moves closer to lake after new contract extension.

LAKE FOREST, IL - One of the most popular members of the Chicago Bears, guard Kyle Long, will stay in Lake Forest and move into a larger home near the lakefront just months after he signed a four-year contract extension with the team.

Long paid $2.56 million in December for a five-bedroom 6,238-square foot mansion on the east side of the suburb, according to a Chicago Tribune Elite Street report.

In 2014, he paid $1.35 million for a five-bedroom, 3,970-square-foot Georgian home elsewhere in town.

Long’s new home has an exercise room, smart house system, breakfast area and outdoor pool.

The 2013 first-round draft pick will be paid $30 million in guaranteed money until 2021.

Long is one of several current Bears ties to Lake Forest, the home of Halas Hall, their training center. Head Coach John Fox bought one home in town from former wide receiver Tom Waddle.
