Blair House to be Considered for Demolition
The late Edward McCormick Blair's Sheridan Road residence fate now in the hands of Historic Preservation Commission

The owner of the Blair House on the north end of Lake Bluff has applied for a demolition permit from the village, Dailynorthshore.com reported Wednesday.
The village’s Historic Preservation Commission will consider the demolition request for the 1950s built residence at 925 Sheridan Road at its January 14 meeting. But the Blair House, which was built by noted architectural firm Keck & Keck for Edward McCormick Blair - the son of the founder of the Chicago investment firm William Blair & Company and the one whose name is on Lake Bluff’s pool facility for a $300,000 donation for its construction - has no designation as a historic landmark locally or nationally.
Janet Nelson of the Lake Bluff History Museum told Dailynorthshore.com that unlike Lake Forest, Lake Bluff does not have a Historic District and no landmark designation has been placed on the Blair House.
