Carolyn Morse Ely Estate Sells For $3.2 Million
Historic Lake Bluff home by David Adler fetched little more than half the original listing price.

LAKE BLUFF, IL - The Carolyn Morse Ely estate in Lake Bluff was sold last month for just a little more than half of what the sellers originally wanted for it.
The David Adler-designed mansion that sits on a secluded six acres off Moffett Road changed hands for the first time in 28 years at a price of $3.2 million, according to a Chicago Tribune Elite Street report.
Sellers Thomas and Jane O’Neill had owned the home since 1988 and listed it in 2013 for $5.995 million.
Four price cuts later and the five-bedroom, 7.5 bath residence built in 1923 was at a $3.995 million asking price: still more than $.5 million that what it was eventually swapped for.
