Chicago Bulls Executive VP John Paxson Lists Lake Bluff Home

LAKE BLUFF, IL — Chicago Bulls executive John Paxson and his wife Carolyn listed their Lake Bluff home of 27 years last month for just over $1 million. The former Bulls player, assistant coach and broadcaster – with the current title of executive vice president of basketball operations – purchased the house new in 1991 for $650,000, according to property records.

With five bedrooms and nearly 5,200 square feet on a 1.07-acre lot, the two-story brick home on a cul-de-sac between Sheridan and Green Bay roads in south Lake Bluff was listed Dec. 10 for $1,079,900.

Paxson, 58, is an Ohio native and second-generation NBA player who has been involved with the Chicago Bulls for more than three decades.

After joining the Bulls as a free agent in 1985 and contributing to the team's first three NBA championships, Paxson retired in 1994 and became an assistant to head coach Phil Jackson. He then spent seven seasons as a broadcast commentator before joining the front office in 2003. Paxson was named to his current position in 2009.

The Paxsons are downsizing now that their children are out of the house and have already purchased another residential property, their listing agent told the Chicago Tribune, which first reported the sale.

The 2018 estimated market value of the home is $1,059,483, according to the Lake County Assessor's Office. Several new homes are planned for subdivided lots on Clay Court to the immediate north of the property.

The home's chef's kitchen and breakfast nook open up to a den and two level deck overlooking wooded back yard.

The master suite has heated floors, dual walk-in closets and a marble bath.

The lower level includes the fifth bedroom, an office and exercise room. The home includes a four full and two half baths, three gas fireplaces and a three-car attached garage.
