Church Of The Holy Spirit Hosts Festive Dinner, Jazz Performance
The Lake Forest church hosted a Fat Tuesday-themed event with music provided by Waukegan High School's award-winning Jazztet.
Approximately 145 parishioners and guests of The Church of the Holy Spirit (CHS) joined together Feb. 25 for a time of festive fellowship that featured a Fat Tuesday-themed dinner and entertaining jazz music performed by the Waukegan High School’s award-winning Jazztet. The music was provided by Lake Forest-based Bravo Waukegan, a nonprofit that supports the music programs of the Waukegan Public Schools. CHS is a founding mission partner of Bravo Waukegan.
“Our dinners are a time to bring together parishioners and friends for fellowship and conversation. It was a pleasure to have Waukegan High School’s Jazzet perform. As Bravo’s mission partner, we are excited to have opportunities like this where we can experience first-hand the talent of the music students whom we help support. Their music truly made it a celebration. Their musicianship was quite impressive, and I hope that they will return!” said Jihan Murray-Smith, Seminarian and Deacon, CHS.

Pat Sikorovsky, CHS parishioner and Bravo founder, said “This dinner was a festive way to join parishioners and friends together, and it also gave guests the opportunity to hear from some of the talented Waukegan High School musicians. Everyone was in on it, even our youngest parishioners took to their kazoos playing the ‘Saints Come Marching In.’” To learn more about The Church of the Holy Spirit, visit www.chslf.org.
