Donnelly Home in Lake Forest Sold for $6 Million
Melody Road estate had been in family of printing firm for 60 years.

A Lake Forest home that has been in the family of Chicago printing firm R.R. Donnelly & Sons for six decades has sold to an unknown buyer.
Robert G. and Miranda Donnelly, members of the family connected to the firm, sold the 21-acre Melody Road estate for $6 million this week, according to Crain’s Chicago. It had been first listed last July for $7.2 million.

The sale is the most expensive Lake Forest home to be taken off the market since October, when a 7,400-square-foot mansion on 5.4 lakefront acres went for $6.1 million.
The exact relationship between the sellers and the late Elliott Donnelly, vice chairman of the company before his death in 1975, isn’t clear. But Donnelly had owned the estate with a 6,500-square-foot, one story glass and brick main home before his death.
