Driver, Truck Found In Fatal Lake Forest Hit-And-Run, Police Say
Detectives have interviewed the suspected driver of a pickup truck that struck and killed a pedestrian last week in Lake Forest.

LAKE FOREST, IL — Investigators have identified the suspected driver of a pickup truck that fatally struck a pedestrian Thursday on Mayflower Road in Lake Forest, police said.
Police found numerous video clips showing the man who was hit, the Ford F150 that hit him and its driver — both before and after the crash, according to a statement from Chief Karl Walldorf.
Officers tracked down the pickup truck believed to have been involved, got a warrant to search it, and seized it as evidence, Walldorf said.

The chief said investigators are continuing to process the truck for evidence. Officers will download and analyze the data from the vehicle's computer and anything else with forensic value over the next few weeks.
Once the investigation is complete, police will turn the case over to the Lake County State's Attorney's Office, which will determine whether charges are warranted and, if so, which charges may be filed. Walldorf thanked the investigators from Lake County task forces.
"We would also like to thank everyone who shared details about this suspect vehicle during our search, reached out with tips or suggestions, or otherwise supported the investigating officers," Walldorf said in a statement. "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr. Kennedy as we continue to press forward on this case."
