Driver Without License Flees Accident on Flat Tire: Police
There have also been a string of burglaries to parked cars in Lake Forest this month.

Driver with no license flees accident
Police responded to a two-car crash on Westleigh Road at 9 a.m. Oct. 15. Witnesses said one car drove off with a flat tire. Police located the car, driven by Onan Chable-Hernandez, 38, of the 1500 block of Kristen in North Chicago, driving on its rim. He was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no valid driver’s license, leaving the scene of an accident and open transportation of alcohol. He was released on $1,500 bond with a Nov. 18 court date.

Violation of an order of protection
Police responded to a report of a man violating an order of protection by going to the person’s workplace in the 700 block of North Bank Lane at 5:15 a.m. Oct. 15. The man, Joseph E. Kinnucan, 51, of the 100 block of Old Dundee Road in Barrington Hills, tried to drive away while police spoke with him, but was stopped nearby. He was charged with violation of an order of protection, obstructing a police officer, and fleeing and eluding a police officer. He was transported to Lake County Jail for a bond hearing.

Possession of false ID
Jose J. Garcia, 30, of the 700 block of Massena in Waukegan, was stopped for a traffic violation at routes 43 and 60 at 5 a.m. Oct. 13. He gave police a fictitious driver’s license and was charged with possession of a fraudulent identification card, no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was transported to Lake County Jail for a bond hearing.
More car break-ins
There have been a number of burglaries to parked, locked cars in parking areas during October.
On Oct. 11, two locked cars parked at St. Mary’s Church were broken into. A purse, cell phone, tablet and digital camera were taken.
The same day, one locked and one unlocked car were burglarized in the parking lot of Christ Church. A purse and laptop computer were taken.
On Oct. 19, the window of a locked car parked at Lake Forest Hospital was smashed and a tablet and headphones were taken.

Telephone scam
A resident reported being a victim of a telephone scam after receiving a call from someone who said he was her nephew. He told her he was under arrest and needed bail money. The woman wired $1,000 before learning it was a scam.
